BlueGator is the original member of Temple Of The Azure Flame, and also the founder. While this technically makes him the "leader", due to his modesty, he would never admit to such a claim. To him, every member is an equal partner. That said, he still wound up contributing the majority of Game Projects to the channel, since January 2013 which was when the channel started to take shape.

His friends include the other members of Temple Of The Azure Flame. GrimMaker is his IRL best friend since 1999, while BritterSweet and ChocoToken are friends he met online throughout the 21st century.

His favorite video game series include the likes of Super Mario, The Legend Of Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Mega Man, Sonic The Hedgehog, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro The Dragon, Ape Escape, Ace Attorney, Pokemon, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, Donkey Kong, and Advance Wars, among others.

Starting in January 2013, BlueGator started up the channel by uploading exclusively GBA titles, such as Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island and Pokemon FireRed. He later started contributing DS titles in March of 2013, only two months after the introduction of GBA titles. Among the first DS titles introduced were Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Super Princess Peach. In August of 2013, BlueGator reunited with his best friend GrimMarker after a half-decade long period of no communication between the two. Needless to say, this reunion paid off in spades merely half a year later when GrimMarker started to assist with contributing to the channel, with his first major contribution being the Crash Bash Co-Op in May 2014, which is a collaboration between two best friends. Around the same time, commentary videos were introduced, with BlueGator helming the very first commentary series: Mega Man X6. Sometime after the reunion but before the Crash Bash Co-Op, PS1 games were introduced to the channel in December 2013, with the first contributions being Crash Bandicoot and Spyro The Dragon.

In June 2014, BlueGator discovered the Bizhawk emulator, which enabled him to record gameplay from NES, SNES, N64, and GENESIS titles, thus significantly expanding the breadth of content that would be coming to the channel. Yet, not even a month after that, BlueGator purchased a capture card using money gained from the YouTube Channel, which expanded the roster of systems to eventually include PS2, PS3, GameCube, Wii, Wii-U, and Xbox 360 titles as well. At this point, BlueGator and GrimMarker were capable of recording from virtually all of their systems, save for PSP and 3DS. Many new games were introduced during that summer, but due to inexperience with using capture software and editing, most if not all these playthroughs either had to be replayed or scrapped altogether. Among the first batch, a few survived, such as Kingdom Hearts.

In September 2014, soon after wrapping up the recording of Crash Bash Co-Op Part 3, GrimMarker had to leave for an extended vacation, and wouldn't be able to return to helping with the channel until 2016 at the earliest. This left BlueGator in a bit of a bind, since he was no longer able to record local multiplayer games with his best friend. Needless to say, this put BlueGator into a brief slump for a few months, though this was not reflected on the channel as uploads were still coming at a steady pace, almost as if the uploads were becoming less sporadic and more methodical.

In January 2015, the channel was split into two branches. One for RAWs and channel updates, which is considered the main channel, and a new channel called Azure Flame Commentaries which would be exclusively for commentary videos. At first, the channel was comprised mostly of legacy content that was previously uploaded to the main channel, but as a gesture of good will, BlueGator threw in a few new videos amongst the old ones, as a way of christening the beginning of a new era.

Later, around March 2015, BlueGator ran into an old online acquaintance, ChocoToken, who was a fan of BlueGator's Spyro 4: Enter The Dragonfly Commentary series. After some internal discussions, it was decided that ChocoToken would be the one to contribute Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 to the channel, and also that he would be joining the Spyro 4: Enter The Dragonfly Commentary. The Sonic 06 Commentary was uploaded to the commentary channel in March 2015, with ChocoToken making his first appearance in the Spyro 4 Commentary from Part 7 onwards.

Much later, in May 2015, another one of BlueGator's online friends, BritterSweet, started up a twitch account. Having just started up one himself, BlueGator asked BritterSweet if she would like to assist with the Temple Of The Azure Flame twitch account, to which BritterSweet accepted, gladly, with her first stream on the channel being Banjo-Kazooie.
